So often during the holidays, people find themselves with far too many people to buy gifts for. When you are buying multiple gifts for those in your family, adding someone like your neighbor can seem impossible. After all, the holiday season is one that is difficult to handle financially in any case. However, you can do something inexpensive and tasty for your neighbors during the holiday season. You can make them candy!
Making candy can be an activity that is a lot of fun. You can even let the rest of your family and children participate. Start out by choosing one or two of your favorite recipes to get rolling with the task. To be on the safe side, you may want to choose several recipes with no peanuts or tree nuts in them, since some people are highly allergic. It is better to be overprotective of this fact and just leave the nuts out. After you are finished choosing the recipes, get to work creating the candy.
When your candy is finished being made, you can package it in inexpensive holiday tins or boxes you can get at discount stores. You can often get five for less than two dollars total. Your neighbors will love your thoughtfulness and your act of giving and you will save money by not having to actually purchase something for everyone on the block. You may even get a return gift of candy from one of your neighbors, paying you back for your thoughtful gesture.
